About Healthcare Districts
Healthcare Districts are specialized public entities designed to deliver community-based health services and support. They are responsive to the unique needs of their respective districts, offering a wide array of care and wellness services and programs aimed at improving public health. Healthcare Districts are governed by a locally elected Board of Directors, ensuring that there is direct accountability to the communities they serve.
About Peninsula Health Care District
Since December 2, 1947, Peninsula Health Care District (PHCD) has been dedicated to meeting the health needs of the local community. Governed by a publicly elected 5-member board of directors, what began as the responsibility of building, owning, and overseeing Peninsula Hospital has evolved into a broader mission of offering health-focused programs and services that empower residents to achieve their optimal health. For over seventy years, PHCD has proudly stood as a trusted partner in the community’s well-being.
PHCD serves residents in San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame, Hillsborough, San Mateo, half of Foster City, and the southeast corner of South San Francisco.
